To this end, we are organizing a 15 day-70 hour training workshop on Graphic Design 101 for beginners.

If you desire a career in graphic designing but haven’t yet started, if you just want to have a basic knowledge in designs or looking to add a skill to your portfolio or CV; then this program should help you achieve just that.

Our graphic Design class is not a MASTERCLASS but a beginner’s class.

It’s a 100% practical where participants will start with the basics:

-Understanding all graphic design tools.

-Knowing the various design tools and what to achieve with it.

-Graphics Design start up

Software: CorelDraw and Adobe Photoshop

Training Outline:

• What is Graphic design?
• Elements & Principles of Design
• Practical Session: Drawing and Setting up an artwork
• Understanding Layout / Pictorial composition
• Problem solving measures
• CorelDraw Basics
• The workspace (Actual versus Virtual tools)
• Drawing Basics (Working with shapes-trimming, welding, etc)
• Working with Text (Paragraph text versus artistic text)
• Adding colour
• Working with picture(s)
• Practical Session: Designing a business card (2 hours 30 mins)

USING CORELDRAW TO DESIGN

• Practical Session: Drawing
• Saving your work ( Different File formats)
• Special effects: (Extursion, Drop shadow, Transparency, Text wrap)
• Practical Session: Designing a flyer
• Software limitations discussed

USING PHOTOSHOP TO DESIGN

• Practical Session: Drawing
• Photoshop Basics (Staying organized: Typical Adobe Experience)
• Understanding pixels
• What photoshop can do (Working with layers, text, pictures)
• Practical Session: Picture cropping
• Saving your work ( Different File formats)
• Drawing in Photoshop
• Using more than one software to carry out a design
• Preparing pictures for use (cropping, post production effects, etc)
• Image optimization and colour management
• Designing a pixel-perfect web banner / Saving for web
• Using the various Photoshop filters
• Painting in Photoshop
• Designing a flyer

Skill Requirement
No previous design skill is required for this training but participants are expected to have basic computer knowledge.

Hardware Requirement
Participant are expected to come for the training with a laptop with a mouse and a drawing Book/pencil.

Software Requirement
Participant for this training are expected to have installed on their system; CorelDraw and Adobe Photoshop, however, we can install that for a nominal fee.
