After a 3 year hiatus from the last edition (Read HERE) occasioned by Covid19, we are delighted to present what will be the most educative and instructional training delivery on Sports broadcasting (Media) that will prepare and equip participants for a rewarding career in sports presentation and analysis, the program is for:

– Persons already in the sports broadcast industry without a formal training or professional certification.

– Individuals who aspire and desire a career in sports broadcasting.

– Persons who wish to become sports analyst as a leisure or a side income option.

The Sports Casting Program will primarily cover and equip participants in:

– Sports newscasting, presentation, production and analysis.

Training will cover:
– Presentation

– Sports news sourcing, reporting, and analyzing.

If you desire a career as a sports analyst, content creator, broadcaster, sports caster, sports talk show host, sports producer or any of the multitudes of jobs available in sports broadcasting, this course will set you up for career success in this sphere.

As part of this training, you will learn:

– The basics in sports broadcasting.

– Develop your own “on-air” technique, personality, and style.

– Rules of starting a Sports Broadcasting program.

– Game-Day Preparation.

– Sports Broadcasting Interview strategies.

– Growing your audience and fan base.

– Learn how to build relationships in the sports community.

– Create exceptional demo tapes.

– Insider knowledge and advice from those working in the industry.

It promises to elevate you on a good fulcrum in sports media broadcasting. At the end of the program successful participant will be awarded the EmployMe E-Learning Professional Certification in Sports Media Broadcasting.

Duration: 6 weekends starting August 05.
Venue: Online

Classes via zoom and study materials uploaded on the EmployMe students school portal.

Morning sessions (9am – 11am)
Evening sessions (4pm – 7pm)

Other details

– After the training, participants will undergo a further six (6) months practical mentoring session where participants will be divided into various groups to start a sports program and possibly grow into a renowned sports program.

– Group setting will bring up weekly content for programming (pre and post game reports) will include use of: podcast, Twitter space, YouTube channel, IG & Facebook live etc.

– Access to sports icon, media personalities as guests and analyst in each groups programs periodically.

– WhatsApp platform for networking, learning and industry information post training.

Sports generally is a multi million dollar industry only rivaled by the entertainment industry and as such their will be more human capacity demand especially as technology brings the world closer each passing day. Unlike music/movie presenters or casters that are at risk of job loss by technology, sports casting is expanding and with more sporting activities, expect more investments in sports media and hence in demand for sports casters, presenters and analsyst.

About the lead facilitator:

Deji Omotoyinbo is one of Nigeria’s most accomplished and respected sports journalist. His foray as a sports journalist spans over 35 years and have covered all ‘blades of the sports broadcasting grass’ covering print, radio, TV, online, sports business, sports and media education. He’s written books including ‘Basics in Sports Journalism’, managed several sports shows and programs.

Sports education includes stint with NIJ school Ikeja, Lagos Business School (LBS), NIS- Surulere amongst many.
